‘Cutty’ wooden cube table spalted beech
Spalted Beech wooden cube tables offer a myriad of colours and texture caused by the captivating and intricate details of spalted wood.
Spalted wood is highly sought after, we showcase this in functional pieces of furniture as wooden cube tables. Whether as an occassional table, side table, bedside table or sofa end table. The spalted beech is sanded to a high finish so that all of the intricate details of the spalting and grain features are shown off in all their glory.
In most cases we hollow the wooden block tables so that they are more managebale to position. They are then finished with a hardwearing wax finish vanish.
Solid wooden cubes vary significatly in terms of spalting and grain features. Spalting, which is the myriad of colours tones and textures in the wood is caused by fungal growth which ceases when the timber is dried. I cannot guaratee the strength or features of each cube before I have finished making it.
