'Wyld' spalted beech tree trunk slice coffee table

A beech tree came down in a storm within a mile of the workshop. We named the table after the village it grew in.

Windfallen and sustainable, telling the entire life story of the tree in the grain detail and natural spalting of the spalted beech tree trunk coffee table.

Spalting is the effect caused by fungal growth through the tree which gives the incredible colouration and tone to the wood. It was a weakness when the tree was standing but is now it’s visual strength as a tree trunk coffee table.

The metalwork is hand-made to follow the form down to the floor, with a brushed finish. Black resin has been used for structure and aesthetics. The edge has the ABF signature charred finish.

The Wyld tables in Spalted Beech are centre feature piece tree trunk coffee table ideal for living or commercial spaces.
• Sculpture like in design each table has an organic figure
• The naturally occurring spalting detail is displayed through the grain colour and texture across the table top
• All ironwork is hand forged by Alex Brooks Furniture

• The size and shape of the tables is dictated by the tree it is sliced from: Approx size: Length/Diameter = 800mm – 1300mm / Height = 420mm
• The village where the Spalted Beech is sourced is called Monkton Wyld, hence the name
• Turnaround, approx. 8-12 weeks – made to order
